UEA invites you to attend the latest event in our AI series with the opportunity to hear from Andy Stanford-Clark - CTO at IBM UK, ‘Master Inventor,’ and UEA alumnus.

The event, compered by Tim Robinson, COO at TechEast, will explore the opportunities presented by not only AI, but also the Internet of Things and technology more generally, and our panel, representing our region’s key sectors, will discuss the practical applications at the front end of the business.

The panel includes:

Energy – Johnathan Reynolds, MD at Nautilus Associates

Finance – Owen Morris, MD at Aviva Quantum (Aviva’s Global Data Science Practice)

Healthcare – Ben Meen, Project Manager at Norse Care

Retail – John Dixey, Head of IT Development at East of England Co-op

Water – Dr Vittoria Danino, Head of the Anglian Centre for Water Studies, Anglian Water

Also joining the panel is Prof Emma Griffin, from UEA’s School of History, providing perspective from her latest project ‘Living with Machines’, set to be one of the biggest humanities and science research initiatives ever in the UK. ‘Living with Machines’ takes a radical approach to collaboration, bringing together data scientists and software engineers from The Alan Turing Institute and curators from the British Library, as well as computational linguists, digital humanities scholars and historians to provide context to debates around the so-called ‘fourth industrial revolution’.

Date: Thursday 28 March 2019

Making Tax Digital – Is Your Business Ready?

March 20, 2019

Making Tax Digital (MTD) for VAT is just around the corner and we know that some may still be a little bewildered by what it all means. Therefore, following the success of our MTD for VAT seminars that took place in October and February, we are holding a final MTD event in Norwich to provide the opportunity to ask any questions you like of our MTD Adviser, Glenn Savill. Glenn will not only explain what you need to know about the changes but also demonstrate the simplicity of cloud-based accounting software, should you be thinking about making the switch. As ever, the event is completely FREE to attend and bacon rolls and refreshments will be available throughout the morning. All you need to do to reserve your place is e-mail confirming that you'd like to attend. Places are limited to just 50 people per event so please ensure you book early to avoid disappointment. We sincerely hope you can come along although if you can't make it but want to ensure you are up to date with all things MTD, please visit
