Join us for our next free networking business breakfast, with Peter Ormosi, Senior Lecturer in Competition Economics at UEA, and Johan Neething, CFO of ubisend.

This event is aimed at any organisation with an interest in the financial industry and related professional services. Presentations will include:

  • Deterring financial misconduct – Peter Ormosi: Have regulators improved their capacity to detect or deter financial misconduct since the global financial crisis? What is the influence of increased punishments, changing regulatory structures or cultural changes in the industry as a whole? Peter’s research focuses on a variety of issues in law and economics, such as deterrence, reputation, and private sanctions. He is a member of the Competition and Markets Authority’s Academic Board and runs the YouTube channel Chopping Board Economics.
  • AI and ML: The changing face of financial management and reporting – Johan Neething: How close we are to having AI board members?Johan is CFO at ubisend, a Norwich-based company with over a decade of experience in developing end-to-end chatbot solutions that solve real business problems. He’ll be looking at artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), particularly the application of AI in corporate audit.
  • NBS fintech lab: We’ll also be revealing more details of the Norwich Business School fintech lab – a new facility ready to equip both graduates and the local community with the skills needed for the financial services of the future.
