The event will provide an opportunity to tap into the social capital, knowledge and talent of a group of around 65 Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) MBA students that are visiting our region.

Over two thirds of the students have between seven to ten years work experience as professionals or entrepreneurs. They have worked in a wide range of industries, with the top sectors being: Manufacturing, Financial/Professional services, Creative, Arts and Entertainment and Food.  The students have contacts and networks throughout China, including the provinces of Shenzhen, Beijing and Shanghai. They are looking to explore new business ideas, collaborations and build local links.

In addition there will be a panel discussion with 5 discussants that have a very rich background in Chinese and British business relations. The panel will cover a wide range of topics on the internationalisation process. This will include two main areas: importance of understanding formal institutional (legal, FDI norms, Strategic alliances, etc) and informal institutions (cultural differences, Guanxi etc).

Businesses could benefit if they are, for example: considering importing and exporting; looking to create Chinese partnerships; or seeking foreign investment or referrals; or simply just doing market research in the Chinese market. Interaction will take place through talks, speed networking, breakout sessions and targeted connections.

There is limited exhibition space available for businesses wishing to show their products and services, if this is of interest to you please contact Jacob Millard with the below details via J.Jolin-Millard@uea.ac.uk:
• The name of the business and who will be attending
• Any banners, type, and size
• Any additional equipment you may need, if you want to show posters you will likely need display boards which we can arrange in advance
• What space is available will be dependent on need and demand, we will be in contact with those displaying to make further arrangements

If you would like to attend this unique event, please register as soon as possible to guarantee your place as space is limited.
