Have you got any underwriting experience or are you a recent graduate interested in starting your career in insurance?

Our Underwriting Team are responsible for delivering an effective and professional ‘market’, for commercial Account Executives and Advisors.

We have a great job opportunity for a full time Underwriter to join our friendly team in Norwich or Framlingham office. Glemham Underwriting is part of the Alan Boswell Group.

Responsibilities:

• Underwrite, produce quotations and policy documents (new business, endorsements and renewals) in a timely and accurate manner and within our underwriting agreements
• Full understanding of the underwriting standards and procedures for commercial schemes
• Ensure that all enquiries are dealt with promptly and to chase insurers as and when needed to ensure the Client is fully informed of progress at all times

• Organised, thorough and accurate, proactive and efficient
• Ability to switch between tasks
• Time management – prioritise and keep deadlines
• Ability to negotiate – achieve required outcome with brokers and internally
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills – including Word and Excel
• Able to build and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders
• Good technical knowledge of commercial insurance would be advantage

Experience:

• Knowledge of insurance market preferred but not essential as full training will be given
• We would be interested to hear from candidates either from an insurer or broker underwriting environment or anyone interested in starting their career in underwriting.
