“No Regrets”…

From NHS frontline to financial advice, we’re proud to see our trainee adviser, Oliver Wisbey, featured in Citywire New Model Adviser NextGen series, written by Isabelle Power.

After seven years as an occupational therapist, including as a senior OT at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital through the pandemic, Ollie has swapped healthcare for wealth management, joining Chadwicks as a trainee adviser. It’s a change of career he says he has “no regrets” about.

As Ollie puts it: “Everyone here is lovely. You can see in their interactions with clients that they enjoy helping people, I would trust them with my money.”
He’s not wrong that a career change can feel daunting, his advice to anyone considering the same leap is simple: “If you are thinking about it more often than not, just put feelers out and speak to people you’d be interested in, it’s not as scary as it seems.”

“Some of the best advisers we’ve worked with didn’t come through the traditional finance route. Ollie spent seven years helping people through some of the hardest moments of their lives, and that instinct to help translates directly into this industry. We look for people with the right values first, the technical knowledge comes with time.” James Bacon, Director.
