Do you have experience working in the field of Probate, Wills and preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney and a desire to develop your career? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dynamic team as a Probate and Wills Executive. You will work closely with our Lead Partner heading our Probate service and our Private Client team. The role involves working collaboratively with the Lead Partner and departmental colleagues in the management of a caseload of deceased estates with an interesting range of complexities, including interaction with foreign jurisdictions, agricultural and business property relief, quick succession relief and resulting trusts. The candidate is expected to demonstrate strong technical skills and a real desire and commitment to continuing learning and professional development.

While the role is expected as full-time, candidates with suitable experience and qualifications may be considered for part-time hours (minimum 30 hours per week). We offer flexible working arrangements including hybrid options.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Taking and receiving client instructions, including client enquires via email and telephone and confidence to meet clients in person
  • Assessing technical issues and implications arising
  • Reviewing documents prepared by colleagues, including IHT400s and associated schedules, both online and paper probate applications
  • Drafting complex IHT returns and relief claims
  • Drafting Wills, LPAs after taking instructions from clients and/or the Lead Partner
  • Correspondence with clients and financial institutions
  • Training and mentoring team members with their professional and technical development
  • Assisting the Lead Partner in managing our regulatory reviews
  • Handling sensitive and complex matters in a professional and objective manner
  • Promoting and contributing to the Vision and Values of M+A Partners
  • Maintaining an up-to-date profile and active presence on LinkedIn to enhance professional networking and promote firm-wide initiatives (training can be provided)
