About School of Economics, University of East Anglia

We have five research groups (www.uea.ac.uk/web/about/school-of-economics/research/research-groups) all sharing a focus on the importance of engaging with non-academic stakeholders and professional organisations to inform research, and to generate dissemination of results to non-academic audiences. In behavioural finance, specifically, academics from the School derive insights on individual and group decision making under risk and uncertainty, study equity crowdfunding, optimality of option pricing and behaviour on betting markets. We utilize bid data to develop novel high-frequency forecasting models and to study information and digital competition.

We have been collaborating with a wide range of professional organisations, locally, nationally and internationally, through research, consultancy, and knowledge transfer projects.

The School combines a reputation of excellence in research with an unparalleled high standard of teaching and student support. Our research guides our teaching, and we are at the forefront of advancement in economics as a taught discipline. We invest in developing close links with employers, to inform our teaching and enhance the employment prospects of our students. We have strong year-in-industry and new year-in-enterprise programs. We also offer the opportunity for students to work on employer-led projects under the supervision and support of a dedicated academic from the School. We organise events where employers can share their experience with our students. We also have the experience of delivering bespoke professional training courses.
